Pull start from hell

Default Pull start from hell

i was just wondering if there was any way at all to put an electric start or a kick start on a pull start suzuki lt 185 because i cant take it in the cold weather and i end up puting alot of starting fluid in it and i dont want to ruin the quad it runs great once started if anyone could help please reply

Default Pull start from hell

I had an ATV70 three wheeler when I was a kid in Alaska, and unless it was below 0 F outside, it would start pretty easily. If you have to use starting fluid every time, then you are probably having choke problems or float level problems. I'd check to see that your choke butterfly is closing all the way, you might do a compression test, too. If that engine has a decompression system, then check the adjustment on it, as well. If it's pulling open too far (if you even have one) then your compression will be too low to start easily.
