Default .60 over????

What do they mean when a person says to bore it out .60 over? How much will the displacement change? What I mean is how much power will it gain and how much will it cost?

.060 is 60 thousanths of an inch 60/1000. .060=1.5mm. The stock bore of the 85 is 70mm, so .060 over would be 71.5mm. The total displacement will be in the area of 260cc. You may feel a little power increase, but more due to the fact that the engine just got a fresh top end job. Figure the whole job cost around 150-200 dollars, dependng on where you get you parts. A bore and hone job is only around $50, but the piston and gasket kit is $90-$150. I found a complete top end kit on Ebay for 490. It included Wiseco ppiston, gaskets and the bearing.

i thought like .60 over was .60 of 1 mm?

like those little peices of lead for mechanical pencils that are .05 mm.. i tohught 12 of those would be .60 mm

No, .060 is in inches .020"=.5mm 1inch=25.4mm
If you have ever taken a machining class, then you would know.

Also, if you got a pencil with .05 lead, careful, you'll cut yourself. I think you meant to say that it has .5mm lead.

Default .60 over????

my cylinder is 261cc's and its .60 over with a wiseco. over all i think it adds a fait bit of power. i cant wait to see what .80 over does to it, but im guessing it wont last too long.

Nah man you dont want to go there until you have.. but i tell you what i have an 86 totally rebuilt. but before i rebuilt it my sis bf locked it up goin down the road on it... ran just fine after that... then when i went to rebuild it the cylinder and piston was perfect. i was very shocked... but now i got mine back to the stock bore... believe it or not i have had it clocked close to 90 mph... these quads are the $h!t !!!

Definately do not bore a motor unless you need to. The gains are not worth the problems
