I think ya'll should throw your little GPS setups in the trash. 1987LT says he was clocked by an officer at 80.5, but some of you insist that is incorrect. He was on dirt, and my friend was on pavement(he would only go for about 125lbs, too) . I don't own a banshee anymore, and could care less what it runs. What would be the point of me saying it would run faster than what I had seen it run? If I tell you my eiger is running low 10's in the quarter, put on your boots. If you have your atv geared for running at a track, you don't expect it to go really fast top end. I would feel pretty crappy if I had an atv that was supposed to be SOOOOOO FAST and got smoked by a huge 4x4 utility. That would be like a hummer smoking a corvette!

The whole works on mine was stock. It's not a very accurate measurement to just trail someone, I know. But there is no way in the world that thing was running low 70's like some say. It would easily have run high 70's to low 80's, even being conservative. The strip we were on was pretty long, so he had time to stay on it and get everything out of it.

I just wrote this really long reply, but I decided I would rather not deal with it. Have fun riding, everybody. Hope some of you learn to allow others to express thier opinions without replying negatively.

I would just like to say that the amount invested has nothing to do with how fast a quad is(top speed). You should be able to take most sport quads(chain driven) and simply change out the sprockets and easily have them running 80's-90's, even though your take-off wouldn't be worth a crud.

Just for fun: Try shifting the banshee into 6th next time!

Oh, and by the way, Stang. You have a banshee listed at 75mph. Is it really that impossible to get an extra 5 or so out of one on a flat black top???? My Eiger only runs 52, while others say thier's runs 58. That is a 6 mph difference on a ute.

Last summer my neighbor who rides a Grizzly was telling me how his friends new V-Force went "120 out of the box".
I said "wow, my DS only goes about 70". When he left my brother who was there & I just laughed about it. About 2 weeks later I was letting my brother ride the DS around in the feild. Here comes the neighbor & his two friends & that 700 V-force. Sure enough a race ensues. After 4 races against my brother on my DS he just went home. I guess he couldn't explain where extra 50mph went

We had a good laugh. We were figuring his friend was chewing him out for getting him a whoppin'.

I know how that goes, Andrew T. My friend and his father, who both know EVERYTHING, from secret satellites spying on Maine to 12' tall bears at the shoulder in Russia, claim my friends 01 Raptor will do over 100 in 4th. He lost 2nd gear and while the motor was out had it bored .020 over with a stock compression piston and installed a different cam. Add a FMF exhaust and octane booster, and it's the fastest ATV in existence.

I can let him get 1 telephone pole length ahead of me from a dead stop, and by pole number 5 he's almost that distance behind me (poles are about 100 feet apart).

"Oh-oh, it must not be running right today, or Michael spent way too much money on his 660R to let it turn all the way up. He doesn't want anything to happen to it. The bike can't handle all the extra HP he's added" Sure...........

My LT500 (AKA "DUDZilla"-right, Andrew?) is way to fast for tight trails, so I have to haul it somewhere to ride.

I bought a Trailblazer 250 just because I don't need anything faster for the trails behind the house, so even if it topped out at 30mph it would be plenty fast enough.
