Aight guys, i traded my 87 rm250 for this bike, and i am very happy with it, however i have a couple of questions. number 1, does anyone have a rear shock for sale or know of any other kinda of rear shock that may fit (warrior, raptor, etc.) . Also, my bike is rather hard to start cold. It spits oil premix and the gas out of the spot where the cylinder and the expansion chamber come together when i try to kick it cold. however when it is hot it starts one kick easily. Last but not least, Does anyone know if it is possible to take the bulky headlight off and put a set of the small fog lights on instead? I already moved the key spot into the plastic, now i want to get rid of the bulky headlight. Just wondering. Also, what twist throttlle is perfered? Just let me know guys, thanks.

1.I would just have the back shock rebuilt. Pro action has good pricesPro Action
2.Do you have the stock mikuni carb on it. they are known for this. rebuild and rejet. But try a new plug first.
3.I kinda like the stock headlight but yeah, you can change it if you want. would require minor fabrication of a new mounting bracket and put almost anything on it, but don't exceed the wattage of the stock bulb.
4. Motion Pro.

Buy the carb rebuild kit, open up and thoroughly clean your carb then put it back together using the new parts and gaskets in the kit.
Your staring point with the jetting is whatever is in there now. If you ever rejetted your RM, the process is the same. Read this and go richer or leaner as required.

1.Just get the rear shock rebuilt, it would be a lot cheaper!!
2.For the starting problem, i would just buy a new spark plug, and if that doen not work, either get a new carb, bigger or get the one you have rebuilt.
3.I would leave the stock headlight on, but you can do what you want, you will probably have to fabricate the frame, and , make it fit. Fog lights would look pretty good, but they can crack easily compared to the stock. You might consider fabricating a pepple sheild!!
4.I have a motion pro twist throttle on my 86 LT250r and it works awesome. It has quicker response and it looks cool!!!

Also, i wouldn't try to get a shocks off something else unless it is another quadracer. Even if the shock appeared to fit, it would probably break or get worse than the one you have now. A good shock company would to think about is works performance. Check their website out www.worksperformance.com. I have nitrogen shocks on mine, you really don't have to replace them, you just get um adjusted to how you like them with putting in or taking out nitrogen. They are only like a hundred or 2 bucks if you want them!!
