Default Eiger start in gear

My eiger will no longer start in gear. Just wondering if anyone else has had this problem. thinking mabey a wire or somthing came loose or a switch is stuck. If anyone has any ideas they would be helpfull. Its not a real big deal but it would be nice to have it working again. I noticed it after the winter i dont know if anything could have got knocked loose while riding in the snow? I dont really want to have to take it to the dealer so if anyone has any ideas they would be greatly appreciated.

My only guess would be to check the parking brake. Mine will start in gear only if the parking brake is on (doesn't need to be locked, just on). Maybe that is where the possible loose wire is.

I used to be able to gently apply the rear brakes and it would start in gear, now I have to mash the hell out of 'em. Maybe there's an adjustment.
It's not very important, so I haven't looked yet, but that's my guess.

And my rear brake light would stay on, was a result of a failing rear brake switch, eventually, it failed all together and would blow a fuse till I disconnected it. Try pulling the front brake, see if it will start then. From the replies, it appears the rear stop switches on these are weak.

I believe it says in the manual that only applying the rear brakes will let it start in gear. I know that's how it works on my Eiger, whether by design or not.

Definitely your problem, but I don't know if they are weak. 1100 miles on mine and no problems with the switch yet.
