1996 King Quad Smoking black smoke
#1
I just purchased the afore mentioned quad. It has only 975 miles on it. It smokes quite badly. The smoke is a black fuel smelliing smoke. I have changed to an appropriate altitude main jet and adjusted the needle to the center clip groove as recommended by my local dealer's service dept. Still smokes.... Should my next thing be to adjust the air fuel mixture?
Also the acceleration is very sluggish after decelerating then throttling up again.
Any ideas???

floats are probably sticking, needle sead clogged or something. Don't run it like that. The gas washes oil off the cylinder walls and hastens wear. Take the carb all apart and clean it thoroughly. wouldn't hurt to get a carb kit for it too
