Default Z400 gearing for trail riding?

My friend just bought a new LE Z400. It seems to be geared a little high? What would be ther best gearing to make 2nd gear a little more trail friendly? Thanks.

I dont know what the stock gearing is, but for more bottom end(witch is what you want for trail riding) go a bigger front sprocket than what you have, or go a smaller back sproket than what you have, or both. YOu wont be able to go as fast at full throttle though.

I changed from a 14T front sprocket to a 13T and it is a deadly set up for trail riding. Lots of bottom end to her. If you aren't worried about loosing the top end (you loose about 7-8 mph on your top end) this is a awesome set-up.

Lower gearing= smaller front and/or bigger back
Higher gearing= bigger front and/or smaller back

I have enough problems keeping the front end on the ground when riding trails, I couldn't imagine dropping down a tooth on the front. That would be suicide around here.
