Anyone break a tighting bolt for the chain.-z-400
#1
For some reason this weekend i was in Indiana ,at badlands and at theend of the day i noticed that my chain was loose. I go in the back and look to see that one of my chain tighting bolts was barly hanging there, it fell of when i tried to touch it. So i have one tighting bolt left and that is for the right side. I heard i have to take my axel out to fix it.

You can leave the axle in if there is still some of the stud sticking from the carrier. Don't try to drill it out. There are 2 ways to fix this. the easiest way for me is to weld a bolt of the same diameter to the stud then crank it out while still hot. The other way is to take it to a machinist and pay them to fix it. I have seen many people try to drill these out therselves and drill off-center and make junk out of a carrier. I would try a Tool and Die shop. Their usually pretty reasonable but you would have to take them the carrier.
