I need a cooling fan for a 2003 KFX/Z400. Anybody have one?

 

What happend to the stock one?

As best as I can tell dirt or sand has apparently made its way through the vent line on the fan into the fan motor. At some point it caused the fan motor to seize. This pulled quite a bit of juice from the battery(shorted out) and the short put a great bit of heat through the metal shaft of the fan motor. It was enough heat that the plastic fan impeller melted from where it connected to the shaft.

Dealer parts replacement cost: $225-$293. Alba Action has had the best price so far. My local dealer shot me the $293. That just goes to show what kind of a markup the Dealers have.

 

I don't see any on ebay. You might have to order one from a dealer. That's the first I've heard of one going.

 

I've been scanning Ebay and have a few more leads b4 I fork over the $$ to the dealer.

 

I have a used one from a 03 that I bought (complete fan assembly) that I can sell for $90 + shipping.

I got the 6.5pull for 52.99.

You will need to make 2 small brakets or pick them up @ local hardwere store.
