Default Carbs. For Z-400?

I heard the z-400 carberator is highly restritive and to put a 38mm edlebrock carb on it and will crank. Does any one know if this is true? Also some had told that even if you were to put the 400ex carb on it u would still gain 1hp.

I doubt the thing about the 400ex carb. I do know from experience however that a 40fcr gives good gains you can get one here for cheaper than enywhere else just look for it on the crf450 parts.

The stock carb has an accelerator pump on it. You should try airbox mods and rejetting the stock carbs before you wanna drop the $400 on a new carb.
