Default Z400 Question?

I've heard you don't have to, but the dealer may tell you different $$

I've talked to a few people who have checked the valves after over a year of ridden and the valves are right on. i'm not going to worrey about the valves on my new Z, but just change the oil for the break-in. Im still not shure what oil to use, synthetic, syn-blend or straight 10w-40?

Default Z400 Question?

I have used the Valvoline atv oil, never adjusted the valves. Now after a year my quad is in the garage tor down cause I have to do a valve job.

Check'em, adjust them, and use a good synthetic oil (Amsoil or Henson) If you blow it off and use cheap like I did then you will have to be with out a quad and do it your self or be charged 300 bucks to fix the problems that can be caused.

Oh ya, just replaced the clutch yesterday cause it was cooked from useing the cheap oil.

Dang that sucks, how hard/often do you ride your quad?

I use the Amsoil full-syn 0w-40 in my other quad, never have had any problems, actually just took the clutch apart for the heck of it, put it all back together, no new parts needed!!

Did you adjust the valves at the break-in service on your KFX?
