Besides dependability, the Vinson is technically three wheel drive whereas the Polaris is four wheel drive.

What a load. Anything that supplies power to all the wheels is 4wd. I'm really sick of hearing about "3 wheel drive" So, which three are the ones powered? Count really carefully the tires that have axles going to them.

I'd say that the only technical term you could use to separate a quad with a front differential locker from a quad with front limited slip is, "Has a front differential locker".

My Toyota has open diffs, should I call it 2wheel drive? What about the other Toyotas that ARE 2wd??? What do I call those?

Give me a break. "3 wheel drive" is a pathetic attempt at an insult by the few models that have a front diff locker. You HAVE a Vinson, you should know better than to perpetuate a lie.

Well I just sold my Polaris Sportsman 400, it was just too heavy for an automatic 4X4 400. Although it went through anything and was like riding in a cadilac, it just didnt have any power (speed) at all.
