Eiger Manual Trans Reverse Trick
#1
Am I stupid or what?!? I JUST figured out that you can use the foot shifter to disengage reverse without moving the hand shifter. SO, you can be totally bogged in mud and rev the hell out of the engine and dump the clutch to get the tires spinning again. Sound dangerous? Maybe, but the way the STUPID REVERSE is so high geared, I can think of a few times where that would have been nice to know.
Obviously doesn't apply to you automatic guys. Probably isn't even an issue with you since the engine revs higher before the clutch engages.

Oh come on! Doesn't it sound like fun? Maybe you could do a reverse wheelie?! Just kidding.
BUT, do you think that the reverse gear is weaker than first gear? Because I'm not really scared to dump it in first to do a wheelie...

I think they are probably the same. I don't need to dump it in 1st in order to get the front end to come up, I just use a little extra body english on it.

I have to do this all the time on mine in reverse. Especially when I plow in the winter, I can pin it in reverse and it wont even spin the tires!!! (only when its stuck in a snow bank of something)
Reverse is geared way too high, I cant imagine bigger mud tires on this thing and trying to pull someone out in reverse...
Anyway my clutch has held up well, been doing it for over 2 yrs and replacement clutches are cheap.
