I do not to sound dumb but I am bored and was thinking. Could I put a different engine in my lt230?? like a bigger one like maybe a lt250r engine?? that would be sweet. Someone on a better quad would want to race and I could win.. LOL idunno if it would work I was only thinking about it....

Fact is... if you want to do the modifications to the fram and engine mounts...you can practically put any engine in your quad. In fact i have a freand who's putting a 600 engine off a road bike into his quadsport 230 ... that'll be fun....if he doesent kill or hurt himself lol.

theres a few good resons for putting that 600 engine into my friends quadsport fram:

1 is that it's a whole lot cheaper to get the engine ($150 can. very good deal by the by) than it is to buy a brand new 250 or even a used one for that matter.

2 the frame isent that inferior

3 i'm not sayin' to go out and put a 600 engine into your LT230 it needs Alot of mods done to it but when it's done it should be a freeky fast, and light quad.

4 It's a fun project that we can do without having to spend to much money lol. (hence we already have the LT230 and all the resorses to do the project... all that's left is to get the engine to his house so that we can start.)

You will twist that frame in half and then again into a pretzel with that motor! The QS has one of the weakest designs of all sport quads. I have more welds/gusets/remanufactured *** and swingarm just to keep it going.

The QS is like the john deer of atv's......duck tape and bailing wire will fix it. Unfortunatly whatever you do will just break again. QS should have a born on date and experation date.

well we'll see what happines this summer... but like i said a few times it's gunna be havily modifide.

All and all it'll be fun ta see... even if it twists the frame into a pretzell... who knows it might actually hold out for a bit.
