Default quadzilla piston clearance

I just bought a 89 lt500 and im rebuilding topend,i have had the cylinder ported and polished and bored .040 over the head is milled .040 it has a dg pipe and silencer. What piston to cylinder wall clearance are you all running along with ring gap?. I bought it just a couple days ago and it seized the first day i just dont want it to happen again.What jetting should i start with?Thanks Jason

Default quadzilla piston clearance

According to Wiseco, the ring end gap is .004" per inch of bore. That would put the zilla at about .016". Not sure on piston clearance though.

If I remember right, Wiseco calls for .050" clearance, which is a freckle tight IMO... One must add for special coatings, etc. too.
My last motor I set up at .065"....

Default quadzilla piston clearance

dirtdawg this is improtant!!!!!!! You need to get the spec's from the piston manufacture. They will tell you both the spec's you need to get this thing right the first time.

ooops, sorry!!!!! My fat fingers missed a zero! How about .0065" (I never said I could type)
