i could kill my neighbors

Go talk to him. Introduce yourself, be courteous, acknowledge that you understand his problem, explain that you wish to ride on his land-respecting his crops, and thank him for his time-regardless of his answer. You might have to deal with some initial hostility, but be cool. Ask him if there is anything you could do to help the situation. He!!, offer to help him out some, in exchange for permission to ride on his property. If you do get permission, don't drag any of you buds along without first getting the guy's approval. If you two come to an aggreement, get his written permission, and sign, or have your parents sign, a waiver, relieving the farmer of responsibility in the event you get hurt on his property. DO NOT rip down the signs-REGARDLESS! Most farmers have buddies that have land. If this guy starts spreading neg. attitude about ATV's, you won't be able to count the signs that start popping up.
A little perspective: Your sweet ride is sitting outside. Your ~lovely~ neighbor walks up the dirve and runs a knife into your tires. Pi$$ed?
Same thing. It's criminal destruction of property, on top of Tresspassing.
Like I said, go talk to the guy.

Aaran,....If you and your family{which I think you left out the first time}already have permission
to use the mans land on designated areas then why don't you go NARC out the culprits????
If YOU are absolutley SURE it wasn't you or your family who did this, then I would make it VERY CLEAR to him of that{but YOU are the only one who knows this for sure}.Maybe if he BELIVES YOU
weren't the one, than maybe you can strike a sorta deal with him in aiding him PATROLING his land with him.Help him get restitution for the $$$ he's lost because of this.
Ya know I've talked to farmers about what they do to keep avt'ers out {and I had to help them realize that it was dangerous}!! It happened to my buddy a while back....
They put barbed wire up along the trail you use and even though they put a colored rag in
the middle of it, it's still very hard to see.Well my buddy thought it was CUTE to cut through this
farmers corn lot and hit a trail through his woods. Well one day he did that and was just about
decapitated!!!! If he didn't go with the wire and fall off the quad it would have been FATAL
for sure! All they know is they want the trespassing stopped and think if they put a marked
barbed wire up you are able to see that they are on to ya.
But they ALL say one thing they agree on... THOSE DAM MACHINES ARE DESTROYING OUR
FIELDS!! Me as an atv enthousiast has to stick up for our sport and say "it's not the machines at all
it's the person riding it" after saying that to them then they stop blaming the machine and see it's
an inconsiderate person doing the trespassing. So I clean up the mess as well for these people
too, and this kinda stuff has to stop cause it's getting worse!!! All I said is VERY TRUE and
my ol bud, well he now has a permanent 1" wide necklace going past each side of his throat
just missing his jugular veins!!! So anyone doing this kinda stuff, just think about what I just
said cause the farmers don't realize they just REACT!!!!

It couldn't hurt to ask. If you have asked him permission in the past and everything was ok he may let you through. As for ripping the signs down, that's the attitude that gives the sport a bad rep. A sfor the state owning 50 feet from the center of the road, and you being able to ride on it, is pure bull. Ride through my front lawn more than once, and your asking for 4 flats.

Wow, this forum is tearing us apart....I wouldnt try to give some fellow atv rider flats, for riding at my house. If they flew through, like jerks I would tell them to chill.
Maybe you should offer to work off what the other people did, if you want to ride that badly.

My front lawn is no place for anyone, besides me, to be riding anything on. I have lost enough landscaping to jerk atv and snowmobile riders to not have any compassion for people who feel they need to ride in my lawn.

Respect the guy, ask permission, respect the result.

See im completly different...about 2 months ago, when me and my pops had bought 45 acres upstate new york, the day of the closing we went up with a few bikes (no house there yet) and when we got there, we chilled for a second and then like 5 quads came ripping down our road....(to me, this is amazing, i couldnt ask for more). Then the last guy in the line stops to talk. Turns out he's a really nice guy that lives down the road from us so like, after riding our new property it was clear that they or other people rode on it cause of the the trail marks and crap, but its all good....
AS LONG AS THEY RESPECT IT, ITS THERE LAND TOO
Plus......then you get to ride there land
