My 91LT250 with very similar mods to yours lost by one quadlength against a stock YZF with a smaller rider on soft sand (so far none will race me on pavement) I'm not sure how long the race was but I was gaining on him slowly when we ran out of dirt so a longer race wouldnt have helped him. Ive been beat worse by modded ones. The difference is I cant gain back what I lose of the line against a piped YFZ, a smaller rider would help my LT250 a lot though I'm 245LBS and a lot bigger than anyone Ive raced on a YFZ. The reason Quadzillas don't do drastically better is traction. If I was going to build a quad just to race YZFs on dirt and had to use a LT I would use a 250 becuase they can make enough HP to get the job done with the right mods but weigh less than a YFZ and a lot less than a LT500.

stock you should only get beat by a little, if the yfz has cam mod, intake tube, and pipe along with proper jetting, then be prepared to lose sight of him.

I say "WE" being myself and a couple other LT-freaks that frequent this forum that share my viewpoint on this topic (Yes, it's more common than you'd think)

I am in no way affiliated with ATVconnection. Jeez, calm down there big fella...

He pulled on me for about 20 feet, but once I got 2nd gear partially revved out, I began to pull on him, about 150 yards later I was topped out and had 2 lengths on him, he then began to very slowly walk by me as his top speed is a couple mph higher than mine
Unless your buddy is 400lbs or your buddy had 4 flat tires, no way in hell you even came close to beating him on that lt500r. I have raced many many yfz's As i recall ive never even had to use 5th gear to do so. Besides bro thats not how you race. You line both of them machines up right and that lt500 would make you look silly.

oh thats right, i forgot; the lt500r can never be beat in any form by any machine.

get real dude, he should be putting down a little over 50 horse and weighs prob abround 410 wet, i should be putting down 47-48 horse and weigh i should weigh 370 wet. as far as racing the right way, mine was meant to be lined up on the motocross track and woods course; i absolutely destroy him in both of those elements. i really hope that you are able to beat yfz's you have a quad with many thousands of dollars in mods that was set up to do sand drags, i guess all yfz riders should bow down before you? maybe you could meet us out at the track or in the woods sometimes and show us all just how fast that zilla really is?

This post was not meant as a flame to zilla owners, I am a huge zuki fan and this is my first non-suzuki quad; I am just so sick of hearing how every zilla will decimate every other machine ever made.

Im up for a little trail action anytime! I live in minnesota the land of 10,000 lakes and 50 million trees. Trails we have plenty of. Ever seen anyone that can handle thier 500r? HAHA well i can bro and im up for a dual anytime! You may need about 35-38 more hp though if you wanna stick with me.

I live about 5 miles from sno-barrons haydays in forest lake minnesota. One of the largest race, swap gatherings in the 7 state area. last year it brought in over 200,000 ppl. Im thier every year! Good place to come if you think your machine is fast. Theres also a mx track 14 miles from haydays so i have it all! come on up, maybe you could bring your 75mph bikes and get laughed out. Starts sept. 7 hotels are cheap. contact me for more info if your interested. rbloom45@hotmail.com
