Default Z400 MX

What all do I need for MX Racing on the Z? I went to the track down the road and rode on it after the races were over and there is no way I would race it stock. I almost turned over on a lot of the turns and the jumps were terrible looking, though that was my fault, it was my first time on a track so I think you can imagine. I know for sure it needs to be lower, it sets up terribly high. I'm ordering a Slip-on first and asap. I know it is going to to take time and money getting it all together, but I'm determined. It was a little embarassing when a bunch of people asked me if I was racing and I said no =/. It is the only Z400 in this town (I'm staying with my Aunt and Uncle for the summer) so It's a new one they want to see. I ordered Nerf Bars a couple of days ago, so I'm working on it. It isn't easy working for all of this stuff when you're 14.

You might be able to pick up some used front works or better shocks, a-arms and axle on ebay or that other forum we can't mention on here. That should about do it to start. I would go for full exhaust if you can afford it, though. Otherwise, just mod your stock pipe and you'll gain about the same as a slip for a lot less. It'll cost less than $5 for a main jet, and a thin plastic washer to slide on your needle. Then all you got to do is drill some holes. If you're interested in the mod, google search "power for pennies," it'll tell you step by step how to do it, and it works GREAT!

Steering stabilizer
A slightly bent steering stem tightens things up nicely as well.LOL
ball$
Nah, you'll just end up swollowing them again when the seat comes up and slaps them into your throat when you come up a little short on that long double.

When I was on the track after the races I hit a double and racked them a bit, and that was just practicing. I raised up on the jump and came down unexpectedly. It could've been worse, but it sure could've been better too. But, I love this thing. I've worked 8 hours in two days to make $48. $6 an hour for helping with brick work sure is great!... =/

Slowly but surely.
