The Zilla Guru, Dr. Q, had this to say about the DG pipe....

Hi,
It's better than a stocker, but that's about all that it will improve on.
Go with Trinity, PT or an LRD if you can find one.
$.02
RK
The PT is listed at $219 on the Duncan website.

Yes, Duneaddict, LRD said it was merely an adjustment. I spent several hours changing jets, adjusting the pipe, and tweaking me powervalve and was never really impressed with the pipe. However, I can say it is well built and looks super sharp.....Just not for my cylinder apparently. Has anyone tried the FTZ Outlaw drag? I am anxious to put mine on, just haven't had time to do it. I have access to a Paul Turner Midrange pipe that woke up my dad's Zilla that had a FMF before that. It made a huge difference.

I think Dunneaddict is right on his reply about the adjustment, the length of the belly does make the diff. on performance as well with the header piece of the pipe, didn't they advertise their pipe as adjustable for better mid to topend performance?Low end performance?I can't amagine them saying it was for a better fit, then advertise it for performance, false advertising right?

Zuk, Dune, I'm not knocking LRD stuff, just passing on what I was told. BTW, there is a brand new LRD up for auction on Ebay, says it's never been installed.

Not to hijack this post, but does anyone else make a pipe that routes to the left like the LRD? I have always thought that it looked a lot better like that. I went to LRD's website, but they don't list anything for 500s anymore. What was their pipe originally designed for? Low-to-mid or mid-to-top power?

BTW: Nice Pics ZillaRider! I've seen your bike at the dunes before. I recognized the yellow headlight and wheel hubs. Enjoy my backyard for me until I get a chance to come back!

69Hemi, thanks for the compliments. I'm pretty sure their pipe is more intended for Midrange and topend power. As far as I know, LRD doesn't make the Zilla pipe any longer. I haven't been to the dunes since Snakehunt because of work, but hope to go back soon, I'm having withdrawls!!!

The CT outlaw pipe runs great and is very neat how it exits behind the left front tire. We are building one right now with the Trinity pipe and it also runs very well.

Hey bubba,
I had one of those pipe's,worked ok but the FTZ pipe I have work's better for what kind of riding I do.They are cool looking and I did get the look's when it was on my quad, but the length of it was too short for the engine work I had done and the header pipe restricted flow, too many bend's and it restricted engine performance. The FTZ pipe was real close with their demension's to the kind of pipe I needed for the engine work I had done.

Went out to the garage today to replace my burnt up clutch. (Rear brake caliper started dragging and helped out in frying the clutch). Also got motivated to install the FTZ Outlaw. I have another set of factory footpegs to build my mounts to. I didn't want to weld/drill to my chrome pegs to mount it all up. I hope the pipe works out, if not somebody can have it cheap!
