Eiger Engine Brake
#1
I seem to be having a problem with my Eiger. It feels as though the engine brake is always engaged. Is this possible? I feel a "drag" whenever I let off the gas. It also sounds as if something is holding it back. It does it at all speeds, up or down hills and on flat ground. At first, I thought it might be stuck in low gear but I don't think that's it now. Any ideas on what it could be or how to check if it is the engine brake?

Check your tightness on your rear brakes, maybe nuts are too tight. Also, engine braking is due to engine compression, a good thing for utilities. Saves your brakes when heading down long steep hills. I don't think you can do anything about that. But...I could be wrong....
My Honda is like that, these types of bikes don't coast at all, they were not designed for it. The majority of sport bikes have clutches to disengage the engine from the drivetrain, enabling free-wheeling. I do wish manufacturers had some sort of way to disengage the drive sometimes....it would be nice to coast down hills to sneak up on game without scaring them with engine noise. My2cnts
