Default need rejetting help

I just got a Super Flow Flange with Uni Dual Stage Foam Filter and need some info about rejetting the carb. I know to change main jet, but do I change the pilot jet & needle. I've read post that tell you to change one and not the other, change all, not to mess with the needle, ect.. I don't want to screw anything up so I need to know what all to change.

Since your changing your filter, and plan to rejet, you might as well go ahead and do the "power for pennies" mod. JMO

You can pretty much go by the drivibility symptoms. Most likely itll be leaner with those mods, so watch for backfire, popping, missing, hesitation, and hard starting.
Heres a good article on jetting.

Thank's for the article "hondabuster".

"craz400" I don't want to get much louder than the stock pipe with air lid off, so do you think removing the peashooter will increase the DB's, because I've thouht about removing it.
If I do remove the peashooter and run an UNI with no snorkel, no lid @ 700 FT above sea level what Mikuni jet size sould I go with. I was thinking around 155 -160 ??????

Removing the air lid is where your going to gain the dB's. I'm at 500' above, and I had a 145m when I removed my pea shooter. I left the air lid on, just drilled out those 6 plastic rivets on top with a 3/8 drill to remove that piece on the bottom side of it, and removed just the snorkle end cap, not the tube. I don't think I gained but one dB at most, but it gained a noticeable amount on bottom. With the better air filter, you might need to turn the air screw in 1/2 turn from recommended, and maybe 1 size larger on the main.

Well I put my filter on today and removed snorkel cap, drilled the 6 rivets out of the air lid. I put in a mikuni 152.5 main jet and turned air/fuel screw in 1/2 turn and I can't believe the help in throttle response it gave my.(I was impressed). But it seems to me that the motor is getting hotter now. there is no backfire, popping, missing, hesitation, hard starting or anything, it runs perfect. It might just be me, I don't know. Has anyone else had this or heard of this or am I just crazy, Let me know your thoughts.

Have not pulled the plug to see. I tuned with running conditions, which all seem to be fine. It starts better, runs better, just seems to get hotter. If it was lean or rich wouldn't it run bad??

A lean motor can run really good. It doesn't have to be all that lean to damage the motor. The plug reading is a part of jetting. If the motor is heating up more, it's possibly running lean. Checking the plug color will tell you for sure.

I pulled the plug ,but didn't have a new one to put in so I cleaned all the carbon off of it and put it back in. Started it up and popped the throttle a bunch of times ( can't ride after dark, cop live's down street), but I noticed the throttle response got better the hotter the motor. After about 5 or 6 minutes the motor was HOT HOT, and the upper radiater hose was hot as h#!! and the fan never cut-on. I pulled the plug and it had no black carbon on it at all, but was a little duller than when I put it in. So is this a sign the motor is lean??
