Default need rejetting help

You need to ride the bike for at least a half hour to get a reading on the plug. The electrode should be a nice tan. Black or dark brown is a little rich, white is lean. Since it is heating u[p abnormally I'd try the plug once after 15 minutes. I'd also not take the plug out/ put it in when it is hot, as it can damage the threads.

Default need rejetting help

thanks alot for all the help MBrooks420

I think I'll go ahead and put a 155 jet in it while I have the plastic off and see how it looks then after riding it.If that doesn't do it I've got a 157.5 & 160 I can try

Did you do anything to adjust the needle yet? Not really anything to do with the heat prob, I was just wondering. On the heat issue, Mine was the same way, I just contributed it to the fact that the engine is sucking more gas/air thus creating more heat much faster. If your fan isn't kicking in, and there's not a prob with the thermostat, then I wouldn't worry to much about it heating up fast, as long as the temp levels out. JMO

Default need rejetting help

This thing is giving me a hard time. With a 157.5 main, air lid off it runs good on the top end(plug chop was good). It ran like crap 0 to 1/4 throttle so I put in a 25 pilot jet and adjusted air/fuel screw and got 0 to 1/4 going good but I can't get the mid throttle to respond like it should. I shimed the needle up not much changed shimed it down not much changed. It idles great and cruises at any speed fine, you can roll the throttle in & out normal and it picks up/ drops off like it should, but if you gun it in 1st or 2nd gear it bogs for a second then picks up and hauls a$$. I don't know what else to do. Anybody have an ideal of what circut to adjust??

Make sure there isnt a vacumn leak in the diaphram. Make sure the top is sealing good and doesnt leak.
Im assuming, youre experiencing bog from throttle off, to open? If so, then the idle cicuit is still too lean. Either go more rich with the mixture screw, or if its more than 3 or 4 turns from seated now...then you need a bigger pilot jet.

Well I final got it tuned right. I put in a 27.5 pilot, turned a/f screw out 1 1/2, shimed needle, and put in a 160 main jet, and running a step cooler plug. It has very , very good throttle response at all positions and is strong out of tha hole.(just what I wanted). I would also like to think everyone that helped me out, the advice was very apprecated and helpfull.
