Default Help with a 1986 suzuki 230 ATV

Hello,im having a real problem,im restoring a 1986 230 suzuki, i need to charge the rear sprocket,it wont fit over the hub of the tire, and i need to get it off,is it a split axle? can one side come off and the other stay on? if anybody could give me any help on how to get the left axle off it would be greatly appreciated,or if anybody could give me a link to a diagram or what not. Thanks in advance.

You may be able to find what your looking for if you go to www.bikebandit.com. Walk through the process of selecting your year, make and model and look through the the diagrams they have. I did a quick search for you and found that if you look at the "REAR WHEEL F/G" diagram you might get what your looking for. I clicked on OEM Parts to get things started. Good Luck!

Go to www.bikebandit.com. Click on the big OEM parts box that will be in the middle of the page. Then there are three steps to get to the diagrams. First choose the year. Then the Make and finally the Model. Once you do this you will be at the page that has a list of different sections of the quad. The listings are kinda vague sometimes and you will find you have to click on several to find what your really looking for but there is a diagram for each section of your quad.

I just ran into another problem! something was wrong with the hub when i got it,so i took the wheel off got to the hub,and the teeth on the axle and the teeth in the hub are pretty well stripped, inside the hub is the worse, its ground down to bare metal, and on the axle, theres still teeth left, but they are kind of grinded down. is there a kit to fix this that is sold? or should i just weld the freaking think on?! heh.

Your best bet is to pick up a used axle and hubs off of e bay. Just e mail the seller to check that the axle and hub splines are in good shape.
