i hate to burst your bubble buddy.but 99 percent of the time two wheels and a good rider will murder you in a race. the two wheel 250's since about 1993 have been pushing just over 50 rear wheel horsepower(in good running shape)and weigh a friggin ton less. i own a 1990 banshee,a 2000 banshee,an 87 quadracer, and a 1993 cr 250,and my cr 250 will murder all of them

I am currently at Elmendorf Air Force Base in Anchorage Alaska. I drove up form Independence Missouri, almost 4000 miles. I used to drive at a place called Chadwick Missosuri and Little Sahara Oklahoma. Anyway I was stationed down in Texas Dallas area. There are so many places to ride out here. Hey that is great that there are Lt fans out here.

Might have to meet up some time. I'm sure my buddy would love to check out your 500. We go to Jim Creek alot just out by the drag strip. If you need a hand with that monster let us know. We've been there. I'm in Anchorage my self. I used to work out on base. Might do it again this winter.

Pumpkin... you have a VERY good chance at beating him.
When I had my 500, it had very similar mods as yours minus the big bore.
I killed... yes.. killed a good running 1997 CR250 that I THINK is ported, on pavement from
a dead stop.
Walked away from him after first gear. Those motoX bikes just ring out too fast, where the
Zillas gearing is more spread out. Given enough HP to pull through that wide gearing, (yours WILL)
you will get him no problem. Make sure you race on PAVEMENT.
Im not bench racing here... I did it.
(read what my Zilla had done to it down at the bottom)

im willing to bet the cr rider didnt know what he was doing very well, your quadzilla pushed what with those mods, maybe 55-60 horsepower at the most? and i guarantee a zilla weighs almost a hundred or so more pounds.on my cr 250 sometimes the 400 ex guys will outrun me in short races because i cant keep my front end down. a newer cr 250 with some mods should push about mid fifties to 60 horse almost. your saying that something that weighs way less with the same horsepower is slower? im not doubting that you outran him,but im wiling to bet traction or wheelie problems were involved

Superevil,
there were no traction problems as we were racing on a paved street.
There were wheelie problems... for both of us.
once through second gear, they are sorted out and the racing begins.
We were side by side throughout the launch and the first gear wheelies we were both pulling.
After we both set the front ends down and hammered it, I walked away.
Simple as that.
As for the rider of the CR250...
He has been my best friend for 10 years, (were only 23 and 24) have been riding bikes together for about 8 of those 10 years.
(we both started on 1985 CR125's and tore them up for about 3 years when we were kids)
We are both experienced on street bikes also, as he recently sold his GSXR 750..
and I still have my Yamaha R1.
He now rides 2 Honda XR 50s, and has had his 1997 CR250 for about 2 years.
Im pretty sure he knows how to ride.......
(not to mention his XR80R, and XR100R that he had as a younger kid)
My Wider geared modded Zilla just plain pulled harder than his motoX geared CR250.
Plain and simple.

No, I work on launching jets on the flightline so when I get off work I am exhausted. Lots of gear and this heat wave here in alaska yes a heatwave has taken a toll on me. I plan on racing him probly Saturday evening. He works form 4 to 12pm and i get off around 4pm; so we have to wait for the showdown on the weekend. Man I dont want too loose. I dont even think I will pull in the clutch just hammer it in gear.. Anyway check this out on Saturday noght to see the results of the showdown. I want to thank you all for all your support, except for those bike lovers out there. just joking! LETS GET IT ON!
