Default info on the Z400

ok....i currently have a 1993 honda 300EX......i am having the motor rebuilt and i am planning on selling it after i get it done....now this is my thought, i want to upgrade to a bigger bike..the 300EX is fun but its not enough power. i was looking into an old honda 250R but i really dont want the hassle of the 2 stroke...i was lookin into a banshee but again dont want the hassle of the 2....i dont know a lot about the z400 so could you guys please tell me some stuff about it? like whats its HP rating? how fast does it go? weight that sort of thing and how it mesures up to the other quads.....like the 400EX, raptor, banshee, 250R, and any other quads you think i should consider....thanks for all the help! later!

z400 hp-29
z400 top speed-67 mph

the z is one of the best all around quads out there, another good choice would be the raptor 660.

I had looked at the raptor 660 but i didnt know what the deal is with it....is it a good woods quad? i want to race XC and im looking for something that will do very well...i kinda want to stay with 4 strokes because i dont want the hassle of a 2 stroke. i looked at the raptor the other day and it looked a bit top heavy but i didnt get to ride it or anything. anyone have any more info on these bikes and some others i should consider? how does the Z400 stack up compared to the rappy? info please guys...thanks!

the z400 is a nice machine it is very upgradeable and is quite comfertable.
the raptor is a beast going from a 300ex to a raptor is huge. dipite what some might say the raptor has huge amounts of torque
the 400ex is slower than the z400 and has no reverse for a racer it is the right choice becauser of the aundance of mods available for it.
the banshee is its own machine with unlimmeted available mods and a different kind of power than any other quad out on the market.
the trx250R is a great quad for an mx rider almoast as many mods are available for it as the banshee. but still way faster than the 300ex and would be a big change in your riding style.

For a trail/xc atv I would choose a Z over the Raptor, and the 400ex. The Z is a higher tech motor, and handles equally as well as the EX. The Raptor isn't the most stable bike out there, but has gobs of power. There is quite a few mods available, and there will only continue to be more available. The 250r is old, and expensive to build a nice reliable like new atv. The Banshee is a dune/hillclimber, not an ac quad.

If you really want more info on the Z just search for Z vs. Raptor or along those lines and there is plenty of info.

My borther has a raptor and I ride a z400. He doesn't mind trading when we ride trails. The z handles better on trail and tight woods riding. The raptor is top heavy. It spends alot more time on 2 tires when turning. They are both a blast to ride though. The raptor does out power the z but it not in the same class. Just my 2 cents.

hey guys thanks a lot for the info...i really needed it.....ive riden other bikes other than my 300EX it just happend to be the bike i got....it was really cheap...1150$ and so i got it...my best friend has a scrambler 400 and ive riden it before, i didnt care for it...it didnt seem to have enough umph behind it...it was faster than my 300EX but it just didnt feel right....i want a bigger quad than the 300EX because im tired of bein all humped over when i ride it or cramped up or anything.... i REALLY like the styling of the rappy, but how top heavy is it? i mean is it something you just have to get used to? or what? if it doesnt handle like the Z400 or the 300EX that still doesnt make it a bad woods bike i wouldnt think.....because even if you slow way down in the turns, dont you have enough power to blast back down the striaghts? cuz ive never ridden one, i have friends that got to ride a new Z400 the other day and they said it was like REALLY fast so i donno. so far i think i have ruled out the 400EX *no reverse* and the 250R *too much $* i would really like to see a comparasin of the 350 banshee, 400Z and the rappy on the trails....i dont ride tight trails i have 168 actes of woods at my disposal...i can ride anywhere on it i want....most are old oil well roads through the middle of knowwhere. but really, i want more power than handling because i also ride old gravel roads around here too.....*secondary roads alot of time, cops really dont care*...... so what is the HP ratings and what are the top speeds of each of these last 3 bikes i am looking into? i think i am gonna post another topic like raptor 660 vs Banshee vs Z400 and see what info i can get. so just post your replys in there if you will thanks a ton guys! *and gals!* later!
