The jets they normally send only work when you take your lid of the airbox. You could always try going down to a smaller jet until you get the one that works the best.

fixed it. put a new spark plug in and it ran better, but not great. then i took the air box lid off and the air filter off. after i took the air filter off there was a big pile of oil in the bottom to the box. it couldnt breathe right. got a whole bunch more out of the filter. oh yeah i didnt tell u that it ran perfect without the lid off and no air filter. so im running the 170,? turns of the air screw, and no lid/ snorkel cover.

im gonna check the filter again today

oh yeah, what exactly does the air screw do?????

The air/fuel screw is part of the idle circuit. It goes hand in hand usually with the pilot jet. The screw is used to fine tune your bottom end.

Are you still running the stock pilot jet?? I believe I was running a 27.5 pilot with 3 turns out on my air/fuel screw with the stock carb (if my memory serves me right).

yes i am running the stock pilot jet. should i get a new one and maybe try a 165 main

if i am revving the quad in nuetral and i give it full throttle is it normal for it the almost bog out at full rpms. i was wondering if it is hitting the rev limiter?.

Yeah, man when you rev up like that in nuetral its going to hit your rev limiter espeicaly if you have a stock cdi unit. Second, most of the time with just a slip on you might not even need to rejet, if you do have to rejet its only mybe 5 up or down. With full exhaust you will have to rejet but not that much still. So if you want your quad to run right with that jet , ride with open air box besides you get more power.
