Default do 2 strokes use rev limiters?

hey man i agree, in fact i liked his so much that i am going to get 1, its a 2001 as well blue/black, with clear nys title in hand, 1000$ needs the frame swapped tho, it seems in good condition other than the cracked frame, and it comes with a new NYS title in hand frame, so cant beat that for 1000 bucks

It's an after market ignition with a small flywheel and has no lighting coil,it just give's the coil the spark for the plug and you can adjust the timing.I got mine from Vito's performance.

Most 2-strokes don't have rev limiters as we know them. What happens is, the ignition just can't keep up at high rpm. That's usually not a problem though. The factory ignition revs way more than the pipe will allow the motor to rev. Just another view before you buy a new ignition.

All old quads have a rev limiter. Well, not all, but m,ost of them. IF you have a THUMB THROTTLE, there will be a screw sticking out of the throttle body. (you know, where you push your thumb) Take the screw out. Congrads, you dont have a rev limiter now. =)

the screw there is not the "rev limiter" the limiter works off the ignition curve, and how high it will let it rev, all the screw does is not let you go full throttle

I thought the screw was used as a throttle stop, to keep from stretching the cable. If you have a 39mm carb, you need a longer cable than the stock one, and a stock one needs less throw, a stock thrumb throttle has enough throw for the larger carb, so you end up bottoming out the stock slide against the top of the carb and pulling the cable tight, so the screw helps the cable live longer.
