Big bore Z-400
#1
Thinking about boring my z- 400. Dont know what kit to get? I dont want to with weisco or what ever there name is. I dont think there that good!! There have been several test with the weisco company and they dont see the power they think there going to get out of the bigger bore. Yoshimura sounds good there are reliable. I want to go big to a 500cc.

Well I have the Wiseco and I tell ya what...I'll let you ride my quad and if you still have the same opinion on the kit then I'll leave you alone. I can tell ya you'd need more than a little NOS to pull me up ANY hill, or flat drag for that matter.
Where are these "tests" that say you've read?? The only one I saw was in Dirt Wheels and the Z440 made 2 more HP than a piped & jetted YFZ!...and that is with the STOCK carb!!!
Thats fine if you don't want the kit but don't bash it unless you've got some #'s to back up your statements...

Alright the other issue was when they did the thumper edition for the z-400. Do ya remember that one. They said it wasnt the monster power they it was going to produce. In fact they quoted it as a "nice monster". And how come it didnt beat the yamaha. Cant stand that. Do you beat the yfz's?

I tell you what I have taken a few holeshots at the track on the other 450s with my z440. I dont know what you are reading but I dont think it can be all that true I have talked to many aftermarket companies and they are still trying to figure out how to catch the built suzukis on the track. Hey not looking to start andthing I do think they are all great machinesbut the season is not even over and suzuki has already won it fro the year. So if you cant belive that they can be faster I just proved it to you and they are not going to a 500 they are 440 and 450 kits. the 500 is not all that reliable anyway but its not my quad I did alot of research and found that the 440 kit is one of the best out there if not that then the 450 yosh kitsome of the 440 kits can put out more power then the 450s so that is the options that I would stick with. I would stop reading the bias magazines and talk to people int the real world I woul belive nothing in those magizines and talk to people that have these kits my 440 flies, and I can say I have seen alot of them that fly.

What compression do you plan on running with your NOS?? All things you have to think about before you buy whatever kit you choose.

I have both the YFZ and a modded Z and theres no question that the Z can make more than enough power with the right kit.The biggest advantage to the YFZ is the fact that they are lighter, better suspension and lots of power all in stock trim.It takes a little bit of $ to get the Z up to speed with the YFZ but it definitely can be done. It's too bad that SUZUKI is making everyone wait for so long for a new 450.I don't think it will above and beyond the YFZ's and TRX's by much if at all.I think for it to be way ahead it would probably drive the cost up too much.Just my opinion though.............................

Alright guys i just got off the phone with Yoshimura, and they said that there kit will produce 55 hp. What does the Wesico produce? Also for the the kit sent to you with your exhange is 950.00 if you send your engine in then it is 1470.00. I am thinking thats a good idea, but if the new Z-450 comes out next spring i am going to be pissed. But i know i would wait for the test with yamaha before making the purchase. i dont want to hold the hope like honda riders did and get let down.
