In my Z400 service manual it says for the first ten hours to not go past half throttle. I bought it used so I'm not sure how it was broken in, but right now it runs awesome.

You're suppose to go only half throttle but avoid constant low speeds and avoid constant high speeds. You should flow through the gears correctly.

I'm on my 4th tank of gas with my z250, haven't really been babying it or being real hard on it, truthfully I haven't been worried about it, I'll take it in for a service in about a week or so but everything seems fine.

It was my post that z250freak was talking about. If you are going to ride it hard, ride it hard during break in. But use your common sense people. some performance machines need to be opened up, like the late 60's to early 70's hemi powered chryslers the owners manual stated to open them up on the highway after about 2 tanks of gas or so, reason being is that if you dont everything will carbon up and that can be a very bad thing during break-in.
