Hey mucky your quad seems fast from all that stuff you got on there. You see what i have on my SG and right now my quad is getting the intake and exhaust cams put in from hotcams. What type of 440 kit do you have? Also how do you do against a yfz-450? Thinking about sending my engine into yoshimura. They claim 55 hp at wheels with a 47mm carb, bu like i asked you how do you do against a yfz?

haven't raced a YFZ 450 yet My neighbor has one and is still breaking in. but I blew away his 400ex. I took the quad to PCP Offroad here in Phoenix
They did all the motor work for me not sure what piston kit it is? but it cost me around $200 for it. I still run pump gas but it has to be 91 octane. They sent the jug back east to have it resealed, there is no sleave in it. has both hot cams and a 41 mil carb.ported and polished I've only had it back for about a week now and it still scares me to ride it I gained 18 to 20 hp

18 to 20 hp thats sounds about right, how did you end up paying in the end labor and everything for the big bore? Yoshi is says 1470 for everything including labor. Well that s not inlcuding the Carb wich i would have to buy, but how does that sound? Take in mind this a true 450. there saying 55hp at the wheels. Also in the for the $1470 i would be paying it also includes a new clutch, rebalance the crank for no vibration, new sleeve and piston, yada . yada....................................

around 2100 total with carb out the door
the carb was around 550 its a fmf or fmc not sure which.
im not much into parts just into riding and speed
I thought if I was going to have engine work done I might as well go for broke.
the quad sounds sweet I havent opened it up all the way yet still breaking it in
I almost went high compression and av gas but Im not quite ready for that yet
and that sounds like a good price from yoshi

ride safe and keep the wheels on the ground is my motto even if I cant keep my wheels on the ground most of the time
I like to jump with it

Is quad a little harder to start now because of the bigbore and cams? Does the power feel more intense? I afraid that i am going to drop the money on the big bore when the new Z-450 is going to come out next year. But i know i would be getting more power out of a yoshi modded engine than a stock 450. JUST DONT KNOW. After my cams are installed i am having the guy dyno my quad. And after i get it back i will install my Boondockers nos systym andi will run it on the dyno again. Does your quad vibrate alot with the new kit on it? You should get it dynoed. Hey what part of Az do u live in i have a house in tuscon. I was there over christmas with my budy and family , I had to drive the trailer with all the quads allo the way from chicago to tucson. But riding out there was cool went to glamis, and other spots .

I lve in Phoenix the heat capitol of the world. Im going to have it dynoed after I break iit in and ride it for a while
I dont really notice the vibration that much but then again I never really paid attention to it when I was riding it stock
I bet when you get the nos back on its quite a rush when it kicks in
my boss has a suzuki 250 quad with a 750 ninja motor in it runs on av gas, it has 4 carbs on it
took it to the dunes and with in 30 mins he used 3 gallons and never got out of third gear with it

I would wait for the new 450;it will be an all around better bike than the Z.If you put the money in the yoshi kit you will surely have a fast quad but that will be about it. The 450 will be powerful and handle great I am sure.I unfortunately couldn't wait for the new suzi so I opted for a YFZ(still keeping my Z though).Rumors are talking about it being as late as 06' for the new 450.Hopefully it won't fall short like the honda did.....

How did you like your hotcams in your z-400, did it give you a large improvement in drag raceing or did kill some power. ALso do you like the yfz alot more than the your z-400.
