Default Hatfield McCoy riders question

What trailhead do you recommend putting in at, and what hotel/motel did you stay at (and like)? As an old man, my back will be feeling bad enough from riding for a few days I don't feel like camping and staying on the ground.
Thanks!

Our group stays at Browning Fork Trailhouse. The accommodations are very nice and clean. You're right at the base of the Rockhouse trail system.

They provide towels, pressure washer and firewood. Ask for Lisa or Marty. They are the owners. Here is a link to their website Browning Fork Trailhouse. I like unit 3 the best.

The Rockhouse trail system is one of the best and has towns at both ends (Man at the trailhead and Gilbert on the back side) for services. If you are looking for a motel room I’d recommend the Colonial Motel in Man, you can ride your ATV to the Rockhouse trailhead from there and to any of the services in town as long as you do it in the daytime and stay off of the 4 lane (Rt 10). If you have a larger group and want to share the cost of a multiple bedroom cabin / house or trailer than there are many choices. I’ve stayed with Almost Heaven Rentals and the Browning Fork Trailhouse and like them both. You can find the contact information for the three places listed above on the Hatfield McCoy website.

With the new ATV laws in place you pretty much have to haul your rides to the various trailheads except for the one you are staying next to…

You should try blackbearlodge, it`s a real nice place to stay and you can unloadyour atv`s and ride from the lodge to the trails. The lodges are fully equipped with all the comforts of home plus plenty of parking room and a pressure washer.

I have been the several times and I would have to say Rockhouse is the best.I can give a report on the Pinnicle creek after this weekend. That is supposed to be a good one with water crossings.Buffalo Mtn is a good one too.Water Ways is alot of green trails which is ok if thats what you like.We always stay at Rockhouselodge. They have a website rockhouselodge.com.He has two locations there and the places are clean. This is in the city of Man.You can ride right to the trailhead which is cool (Rockhouse). On the other end you can go into Gilbert and get gas and lunch.I recommend Billie Anns.Go right about 1/2 mile when you come off the trail. When you ride Buff Mtn you can do the same thing in the city of Matewan.Make sure you hit #93 and 94 on Rockhouse!
