How'd ya make out at the track this past Sunday ???

 

practice went great! the race on the other hand didn't. i need to work on starts, but after that, there was a pile up in the first turn. got around that easy, then there was another pile up in the second turn. sneaked on the inside of that. i was in the top of the pack, and i went off the track. didn't lose any postions, but didn't know why that happened neither. i was about to hit the tabletop/then double, and i knew something was wrong. i couldn't steer. rolled over the jump, gunned the straight and went right into the berm. finally i stopped to see what went wrong, and a bolt that attached the steering arm to the spindle came out. so DNF for me. anyways, i drilled the bolts, used aircraft nuts and cotter pinned them now. i thought everything was solid on the quad to race, but i guess not. can't do southwoods this weekend, but i'm gonna catch diamondback

 

Well at least you got on the track and did the best you could. Glad to hear your gonna stick with it,
maybe after the repair you did you can finish in the top 5 or better.

i had my first race this week on my quadracer...and i didnt do too good either...but it was my first race. The bike did awesome except for one thing...i'll explain that later. There were only 4 people in the 2 stroke class ( not including blasters ) and there were over 25 in the 351cc+ 4 stroke...this made me kinda mad but is the real reason i want a Z...anyways...The other 3 were honda 250R's. 2 of them were experienced riders with all kinds of mods. The other one had the same hop-ups as i did and stock suspension, etc. I figured he was my closest competition. This being my first race i was VERY nervous. At the line i had a huge wheelie and had to let off. Made the mistake of shifting to second and having her bog, but it came through and to my surprise i was on their asses at the end of the straight-away. (shows the power of these beasts ). But right after the straight away was a set of whoops and i lost a lot of time there then a double out of the whoops that i almost landed on the grab bar on. So my whole start set me waaay back and I lost the little bit of confidence i had. I did infact come in 4th outta 4. The second race, the guy with the almost stock honda broke a clutch lever at the line so it was me against to experienced riders. I got a good start and was there with them until the whoops which again set me back. I was in 3rd for awhile then the 2nd lap one of the guys landed off the track in the mud and got stuck. I ended up lapping him before he got out so i came in 2nd outta 3. Overall i had a lot of fun but just wish i had some closer competition. The problem i had was that our rigged drain plug got ripped out and i lost all the tranny oil...who knows how long it was gone but nothing is wrong and now we are going to tap out the cases and put a real drain plug in it. It had an expandalbe rubber plug in it with a long bolt sticking down. But i hope nothing is hurt on it...

OK. I might not get home tonight until late, but I'll snap some digital pics in a day or so and send them down.

In the last few weeks, I've sold two Honda Fat Cat's, a Yammie 125 and this is the last one in the garage. It's gonna be strange not having any bikes around.
