I have an 03 auto Vinson. I used to get 58+mph and now am only getting 55mph. I have changed the belt, had it tuned up and even checked the Valve clearance. I also tried a EPI clutch kit, And while the kit gave me more bottom end and better mid range, ( awesome kit) it did not restore the top end speed. The bike has 3300 miles on it. Any suggestions

check your clutchs make sure they are clean, and check your tire pressure, make sure there is no belt dust of any sort.

Hi Same thing happened to me. First is it an automatic. If it is drain the valve on the right side of the machine. Reve it up and get the water out. Did you take the clutch cover off too. You make think it is clean but it probably has some guk on it. Scrape it all off and use some brake cleaner to clean. TRy these things should be as good as new.

 

Whats the compression ? 3300mi, 55mph still fast.

 

Check your scale, maybe you have been eating too good. Hows the air filter and or fuel filter?
