When i was looking for a pipe for my 97 KQ i looked every place i could think of.The only two that i could find for it,was the Cobra or Supertrapp.Because i heard some bad reports on the Cobra i went with the Supertrapp IDS2.I put it on and did notice a small difference in performance.More so in 3rd gear.I havent gotten a jet kit or K&N filter yet.Im gonna do this soon i hope.I think if you went with the Supertrapp you would be happy.I got mine from Dennis Kirk for about $200.00 with shipping.....BOB

King,
When you do get the jet kit please post and let us know how it goes. If you get a significant boost in power and how hard the install is... TIA

um yes i think it does. but if it is still under warenty i would not tell them you got a pipe for it. if it breaks or something i would just put the stock pipe back on.

yea, but don't you have to cut the old one off before you can put the new one on??? If I cut the old one off then they could tell that I welded it back together.

jester 4736 i think it is bolt on. it wouldn't make sense if it was welded on but if it does then i would get a pipe that comes with a head pipe then too.

What iv'e heard about the Cobra is that it is loud. With the Supertrapp you can ajust the noise leval with the discs. The noise level did increase with the Supertrapp. It is louder than the stock pipe,Plus i notice the KQ sounds a bit deeper. It bolts on.I took the rear plastic off mine.It made it alot easier putting the pipe on......BOB
