Help I need a silencer for a LT500r Quadzilla!!!
#1
I just got an 87 Zilla and I can't wait to ride it. As of right now it is missing the silencer and the pipe is shooting hot exhaust on my leg (The pipe directs the flow right at you and man does a zilla have back pressure!!!) Its a little too dangerous to drive considering that every once in a while it backfires flames through the pipe when you go to kick it. I don't even want to mess with it until I get the silencer so I know its safe.
P.S. I have a silencer on it but the pipe is short... I think it was taken off a 500 mx bike or something cause it has a bigger bore than a 250 silencer. It just is about 2 feet short of meeting up to the stock zilla expansion pipe that my quad has so basically its there for show and does absolutely nothing.... the guy that sold me the zilla said it needs a connecting pipe between the expansion chamber and silencer but I just think its the wrong silencer and he didn't know what he was talking about. The expansion chamber is definitely the correct one though.... a 500 pipe is unmistakeable!!
Thanks for helping out a new quadzilla owner!!!

I don't know how much you want to spend but duncan racing international has a great exhaust set for the 500r it costs a little bit but works well. also don't use a rubber style connector. just order a new pipe. the pipes are welded to the connecting pipe. If you don't what to do that though get a piece of pipe and a tig welder and go to town. godd luck man.
oh and you have to use tig. mig or arc are to hot and brittle.

I forgot to mention but with out the sielencer you rob almost 20% of the power do to loss of vaccum. just a tid-bit I picked up about 2 strokes and I can vouch for that I blew the packing and spark arrester out of mine and I noticed a big loss.
