Default New Twin Peaks In The Shed

Just picked up a left-over '04 Twin Peaks. After riding a Brute Force, Grizzly, Arctic Cat, I finally settled on the one I wanted in the beginning. I guess I am just not comfortable with IRS yet. Although, I have to admit, the Grizzly would have been a nice compromise. I actually had the dealership run the numbers on the Grizzly, but the Suzuki was a much better deal.
Initial impressions are positive. It handles more like a play quad than a utility. It seems to have a lot of power. I have about 1/2 hour on it so far. The only bad thing is it stinks. I have never smelled anything so nasty. The first 10 min. if you idled there was smoke rolling out from the engine compartment. I let it cool to pick up appliances and rode it again. The smell is going away thankfully.

A couple of questions:
1. How long for break-in?
2. It seems you have to give it gas to start it when it's warm. Is this normal?
3. How long before I have the belt adjusted.
4. Where is the best place for accessories. (Brush-guard, front aluminum CV guards, and mud-lites)

Check over at the Kawi forum for belt adjustment info. It's either at 10 hours or 100 miles or something.....ORDER A SECONDARY SPRING FROM EITHER EPI OR DALTON! These extend belt life!!!! A good philosophy you can choose to disregard or follow is the break-in method. Don't do it by the book, use short bursts of strong acceleration and then regular cruising. This makes for better power on down the road. How much did you get it for out the door?

I was tossed up Peaks/VForce I will most likely get a V next year depending on if kawi updates there lineup or if suzuki releases
a big-bore (or VTwin) Sport Quad!
