nobody can really know for sure what the real speed of them are without very high dollar testing equipment. Dude dont worry about top speed! It is not about top speed it is about the riders ability. get something that will develop your skills and make you a better rider.
Amateurs talk speed...but pros talk handleing.

DEFINATELY.
my Z250 was the best thing that I could have got for my very first atv. I had never even ridden before except on a ragged out little Yammy timberwolf back on my papas farm. And man I will tell you what it made me into what I am in a year (I have won alot of local races at the tracks around here facing modded blasters, a banshee, and I came in second only to a 450r) I will even email you a pic of the trophys if you dont believe me.

Have you ever ridden any atv's before? You may want to consider a used one. A lot of people buy a new beginners bike, and gain enough experiance that they "outgrow" the riding skill needed for the bike. Having 3 years of payments left, and being bored with an atv, or needing to buy all kinds of bolt-ons sucks, when another stocker bike will still eat it for breakfast. You don't have to use all of the power, but you can never use what isn't there. What kind of riding will you be doing? Height, weight?
GTFZ250, if your beating Banshees,(and even Blasters) then they really need to learn how to ride.

In the woods usually my 2 Z250s are the ones that pull ahead of all the other bikes, (because of their size and how nimble they are) They are awesome trail bikes we are thinking about picking up another one for my sister.

well the track itself is awsome set up fro my little 250...no straights over about 35 feet long. As long as I am on my turning game I can normally take them. Now I will admit the track setup is the only reason I have a chance. They set it up so that the riders are the ones racing each other not the quads. These people believe in thier theory of "Anything can go fast in a straight line." And yes you are right the banshee rider is like in his early 30's and probably dont know how to ride very well. The blaster riders look like they are a little more experienced. They were on my *** most all the times they were on the pipe but you have to remember that on a twisty tight track, it is a lot harder to ride a 2 stroke faster than a 4 and I dont have to worry about a clutch either. So alot of things are in my favor.
