LT250R potential
#1
I am looking into getting an LT250 and I was wondering what some of you fellas have done to your machines and how well they run when you are done. I've looked at Trinity and Duncan Racing--both have engine kits but no big bore kits. I am a previous Banshee owner and I want this thing to rock and roll, so I am looking for some serious power. Thanks in advance!

I talked to LRD just last week and they will do a 300CC Big bore kit for your LT. just takes money!! on this big bore kit you also have to have the cases machined as well. was like 1300-1500 for the kit. that was like sleeve with big bore on your cylnder, port and polish ,cool head and dome, machine cases, etc.

I have an 87 LT with Paul Turner pipe, wiseco, 39PWK carb, reeds, ported and head modded, about 165 compression burns normal gas. Runs good for an LT, a little better on the big dunes than our piped Raptor, but since I got my YFZ I can hardly stand to even ride that old LT anymore. The new bike is way faster and handles light years better. There's only so far you can take one in my opinion unless you want to spend 2500 engine bucks and burn race fuel you're better off with a new thumper.

I've got a KFX700 for my thumper, I'm just looking for an inexpensive second quad tht I can build into a duner. I don't like the 450s for duning because they just aren't comfortable--my KFX700 is the perfect dune cruiser for me. I just want the option of that second bike to go and rip the hills with if I want. The LT is already what I am going to buy, I want to know what mods you guys are doing to get power out of them.

Just look at my sig and run with it. Very fast. Very dependable, and very rideable at low rpm. Duncan Racing really has thier act together when porting this quad. It really reponds well. In my opinion you really don't need the big bore kit. I feel that the added cost does not justify the extra power. If you were going to spend that much on top of buying the quad then you might as well step up to the 500 for the same price. In a big open area(such as desert) they offer a plush ride with torque for days.

I wouldn't mess with an LT chasis if it were me..
Quadzilla engine in a 250R chasis sounds good though...decent handling.
If I were you though, Id be selling my KFX700 for a down payment on a DS650 Baja X...Its got the big comfortable ride you're looking for, and its also an awesome duner...whatever you get, ride hard and have fun man
