Default LT230E clutch conversion to manual

Does anyone know if it is possible and if so, easy enough, to convert the automatic clutch of the 230 quadrunner to a manual clutch that the 230 quad sport has. I was kicking that around, and didn't imagine there would be much to it, as far as i know, the only difference in the two machines is the clutch and the reverse and electric start. thanks.

dont really know if you could but anything is possible with just a tourch and welder. also if you could find a 230s engine you could put it inthere and sell the 230e

I agree with Newduck, that a motor swap for a Quadsport would probably be the easiest route. The Quadsports do have reverse. It would be possible to do, but may not be worth the work.

I have both of these motors right here in my house. They are certainly not the same motor. You could possibly put the Lt-S clutch covor on the Lt-E motor, but I don't think the manual components would work in place of the auto clutch without custom work. You could put a manual disconect to release the pressure on the clutch plates in the manual clutch, but it wouldn't be a true manual, and similar to the manual clutch kits available for the z250.

ok, well if you don't think that is doable, do you know of any place that sells a new clutch for the 230E besides OEM, stock, its really expensive

Anythings possible. A manual clutch basket may in fact bolt in. I assume some custom machining is required. Maybe I'll pull the clutch covers and take some measurements after work tomorrow. If it looks like a bolt in deal, I happen to have a basket case quadsport motor with all the factory parts you would need. Veserah makes the fibers. If you need the one way clutch, OEM is the only answer.

my email is jrupp82@adelphia.net you can just send them there, again, if you could pull the covers off and get some rough measurements of the baskets that would be awesome, also give me a price tag you were thinking for the motor
