Hey ****! That LT turned out looking SHARP! Hows it run? you happy with it?
That new maier plastic looks pretty decent (Compared to the old crap they used to make)
How did it fit? The old stuff needed to be formed with a heat gun, and no holes were present... fit like crap
That looks Great!

Thanks, I was a little sceptical about the blue plastic, but it turned out pretty good. I am actually suprised at how well it runs considering the lack of mods. Just the LRD, and 41.5 carb. A guy came around with a YFZ and a 470 13:1 kit and all the goodies to go with it. We were even through 1st gear, after that I was handing him his A$$ in a big way.
The new Maier fits great, all the holes just fell right into place, I didnt have to tweak anything whatsoever.

Excellent! Always glad to hear of a good old fashioned butt whoopin'
SO tell me your opinion on the LRD pipe... is your power pretty flat in the low and mid range, then comes on much stronger on top?
That's my experience with the LRD pipe, but my cylinder is ported WAY bigger than stock (Port size could be hurting my low-mid)
I'm hunting for another pipe for a friend, but not sure if that's the best application for a 'closer to stock' motor.
Just wanted to hear your opinion.
Thanks!

Thats the reason I swear by the LRD. I have seen it tested side by side with a PT and a CT pipe. It made more low end than those 2 in its "top end" setting, and killed them on high end power. Its really strong on the bottom end, has a great mid range pull, and gives the 500 overrev that it badly needs. Every other pipe I have tried makes good power through the mid range, but always falls off big time on top end. Most 500 owners know that the Zilla does not lack in the low end department, but could use another 500-700 RPMs of pull on the big end. I have talked to many of the 500 Gurus like T&N, MP Racing, ect, and they all agree that from stock to about 75hp the LRD is the only way to go. After 75 or so Hp they suggest an out frame drag pipe like a Shearer or Stealth.
I just recently had my LRD TIG welded up at the adjustment with it permanently in the top end setting. No more leaks, not more movement or bolts comming loose. Had it high temp coated after that, best thing I ever did. If you look close in my pics you can see where it has been welded.

wow...no2strokebs...that is by far one of THE nicest zilla's i have ever seen. I love the blue plastics with the silver frame. Not too many others around that are puttin a lot of money into these things to make them look nice, most people just want them to run good...haha

***.S. The LRD is my weapon of choice also, but I had no idea how well it performed on a closer to stock motor. My ports have sacrificed some mid range power, but the top end is nothing short of Yahoo!

I have always thought low-mid range power to be overrated anyhow, especially on a play/drag bike, I mean, who cares about low-end when you are dropping the hammer at 7000 RPMs. Low end is for tractors.
