There is no point in rejetting the carb BEFORE you get the pipe, Because as soon as you get the pipe you will have to rejet it again! Rejetting a stock bike with only a K&N air filter is hardly worth the time... It wont give you a big enough increase to make it worth it...

Spend 15 bucks on a 13t front sprocket and you will get the most noticable torq.
Its the cheapest mod that will show the most difference.

Doug Gust's "Ask The Pro's" About Sprockets

I would check out that website about Sprockets first before changing your sprockets...

hey guys, thanx for the help, im completely new in moding a quad cause up till now, ive always just left them bone stock. um, i read about changing the the amount of sprockets like you said, and it sounds good, but theres one problem... if i modify it to get more top end, then my low end will decrease right? and if i mod it to get more pick up speed (low end) then ill have less high end, did i get that right? i kinda want a little more of both. especially top end. whats the price on a white bros pipe for a Z? i mean the hole sytem, the full package. i think ive come to the conclusion thanx to all your replys, to get a white bros or big gun exhaust pipe, plus the K&N filter and to start off with a stage 1 or 2 jet kit. for those of you who know lots about moding, what do you think of this combination? thanx again guys.

That's right, when you change gearing, you loose one to get the other... Either you loose top end, or you loose bottom end..

The only way to effectivly increase both, is to creat more Horse Power.

I think you have a good combo. there... That is exactly what i am doing....

What i am going to do is this.....

HMF, Suzuki/Youshimura, or CT Full Exhaust system (I havent decided which yet)
K&N Air filter (I am pretty sure i am going to go with K&N, but that's still not 100%)
EHS Racing "Outerwares" Airbox Lid
Stage 1 or Stage 2 Jet Kit (Not sure yet, need to find out more information about the different stage's first)

That is all i am going to do to mine...
