Well today was my 1st time to really run on a mx track with my bike, i mostly ride trails and what not. Ok here is problems:

I have plenty of power(sucks to admit)

Shocks in the front are fine, the back on is crappy, its as soft as it can get, i will tightin it up tomarrow, but if i get over 3-4 feet of air it bottoms out badly. I know 1 reasion is that i weigh 280 pounds and im not the best rider.

Also i cant cornor that well, i tryed fliping my rims+ 1/4 spacers to keep the valve stems clear, but i have heard that it is bad for the bike if i jump.

My goal is that i want to be able to jump up to 6 feet of air and not bottom out.

What can i do to get this thing wider?

You can jump as high as you want, if there is a landing, and if you land right you will rarely ever bottom out.

I agree with ratfastdude, if there is a landing ramp you should be ok. But if there isnt of course its going to bottom out. Besides i am sure your weight contributes a little

Get a set of Elka's and you can set them to make you feel like you landed on a cloud.
Stock shocks are ok but I need stifer springs I think.Elka's are next on my list.

and if you go wider you need to beef up the shocks even more
it puts more stress on the springs
