2005 King Quad ....de tuned???

that really burns my a$$ too you pay thousands of dollars and they retard the timming or remap the cdi and put rev limiters on everthing now I mean isn't that why we buy 700cc quads for more power torque speed? im sure the quad they gave the rags for testing wasn't detuned i mean if they were a little less concerned about POSSIBLE legal issues and protecting their a$$es maybe they could give us a real deal vehicle , this is a new trend hopefuly some company will have an aftermarket black box or module for it. The guys who have cannodales are having some problems with remaping after mods so I don't know about efi yet only time will tell if it's rewards outweigh the risks. see I just bought a 700 prairie and when I found out that it could be running cooler start easier have more midrange and topend because kawi detuned it I was pissed.

I could feel your anger. I had to wait three years before a company like dyno-jet introduce a high performance CDI that permitted me to receive all the power that my Prairie 650 had in reality. They told me went I bought the Prairie that an aftermarket CDI was coming in a month, it arrived three years later, but happy it finally did!

Quit whining, all machines are detuned. Most for reliability, some simply for safety. The average person doesnt need to go over 70mph on a tippy irs utility quad. Hell, most sport quad riders dont need to go that fast.
You cant ignore safety. The public sure wont. They attacked the atv industry back in the 80's and early 90's, and the public will do it again at the drop of a hat. Its the company's responsibility to release a safe and reliable machine. Besides, thats what the aftermarket is for.

Not to Hijack the thread or anything, but 700kawvtwin, what problems have you been hearing with Cannondales changing Fuel Mapping? I've heard/had many, many other problems, but not any problems with the Fuel Injection/Mapping System.

The whole point to us V-twiners even thinking about a one lunger is that it is tuned UP and has power to keep up. If it gets stomped into the dirt by a 650, then I might as well keep my 650.
