well what im saying ozark is that you said a z can barely beat a 400ex, and this is VERY untrue. A Z400 cant beat a raptor stock for stock, but a z400 will clearly smoke a 400ex.

 

My God I'm sick of this lame crap about what quad will beat what.
Personaly I could give a rats ***.
I went to the dealership with enough money to buy any quad I want.
I went to buy a Rappy660 but after ridding one at the dealership then ridding the KFX O my God the difference is unbeleavable.
Sure the Rappy has loads of torque and looks sweet in apearance but it just didn't suit me like the KFX.I could carve turns ride wheelies way better on the KFX and to be frank it just felt more comfortable.
I almost got the YFZ450 but liked the style and reverse of the KFX.
Thats just the quad that suited me the best.

My KFX400 with the mods listed above will flat outrun a stock Rappy660.
My friend that lives down the road has a bone stock Rappy660 and everytime I ride he rides and thats alot of ridding,dragging,raceing, wheelie contest and etc. etc.

Now at the LADunes in Forest Hill,Louisiana all everybody does is drag at this place all day long.Thats alot of dragging during one day.
One day I was out there and 3 guys pull up on 2 04` Raptor 660's and a Warrior350.
Well the guy on the Warrior ended up being our flag man heh.

'04 Raptor 660 HMF (slip on) extended swingarm K&N filter rejet and some deep paddle sand tires (I forget how many paddles and what brand)
The other '04 Rappy had the identical mods but it had a different graphics kit.

During the corse of the day we must have draged 15 times.They even switched up atv's towards the end of the day.
The strip we were dragging was pretty long I forget how long but they had it flaged off at the end.The strip continued even further but it starts to get reel ruff bumps etc were everybody usualy shuts down.
Out of all the drags with them they probably beat me 6 times out of 15.I was always a bike length ahead of them at the finish.A couple of times we really wound them out and held the throttle wide open past the finish markers and they pulled ahead of me almost every time so they had me on top end.We all had stock gearing at the time too.


All in all I like all quads.
Its more the ridder when it comes down to the nitty gritty anyways.
You can take a pro and put him on a stock quad v/s a novice on a factory fully moded identical atv and the pro will win.

 

A Z does not SMOKE an 04 400EX! You obviously never raced one...................Put down the crappy magazine and step away!

 

You guys, he is not bull sh!ting at all. I could beat raptors all the time in a 300' drag with a exhaust, open airbox, and cdi. Even slightly modded ones as well. , Raptor guys just cant believe they are getting beat by a 398cc machine.

 

dude my buddy has a 04 400ex my z smoke 's it bad in high gear... with same mods ......
