I havent had this quad but maybe a month and already have a problem. It has been running great up until now. I went to start it and it was running good then all of a sudden it started to kinda bog down and wanna die in about 3rd gear. I had to downshift to keep it running. Then it finally died. I figured i was outta gas so i switched over to reserve and made it a little farther and it finally died and that was it. It would backfire a little too. I put fresh gas in it and that didnt help. When i push the starter every now and then it will try to fire but wont. It turns over fine and all my dash lights work. The quad is all stock. What could be the problem? Hope it isnt serious.

Take it back to the dealership , it should be the under warranty. If you want to get it started have a buddy pull you and your quad and shift it into 3rd while moving.

 

I had the exact problem, posted it and others had the same problem. I took the carb apart cleaned it and put it back now it runs perfectly. I agree that if you can make it the dealers problem, you should..Good Luck

 

If its a new quad take it back to the dealer
if its used check your carb and the fuel petcock

Check the vent tube to your gas cap, same thing happened to mine when it was new, got clogged with mud and died, I was PO'd. come to find out the tube was clogged.

 

Did anyone have this problem with an 03' or 04' Z400? I have one of each and didn't have this problem. I was just curious.
