and when? KQ came out in something like 88-89 if I recall. Was this the first?

honda did..in 1986..honda formen..suzuki was the first to make a 4 wheeler in 1982 but honda made theres 4x4 first.

 

Honda foreman...and that thing was built like a tank.

 

umm...the first 4 wheeler wasnt until '85....not '82...and it was the Suzuki Quadrunner ( or quadsport ) 230...i dont know about the first 4x4 though...i bet it wasnt suzuki because suzuki was mainly into racing back then.

 

honda came out with the first 4wd, and when they announced it, they lowered it from a helicopter with all 4 wheels spinning around

 

The first commercial 4 wheeler was the 1983 Quadrunner LT 125. You can find out more at:

The first Suzuki was a 4 wheeler but it was not 4 wheel drive. The Honda Foreman was the first wheel drive 4 wheeler.

 

He asked 4wd I believe...I had a 1987 Big Bear...it was 4wd and even had a dual range trans.Absolutely the most reliable (and abused) 4 wheeler I ever owned.

I remember the Big Bear..what a beast that thing was!

 

No problem.......yes it was a beast.I went from that to a wolverine to a new style kodiak to a 650 prairie....what a transition! lol
