why the hell would u have port and polish when your still useing stock intake and exaust? You'll gain like 2% hp. if u let the engine brethe better, the port and polish help about 35% power increase.

hey strangegtx, apparently u know $HIT about quads............ u have to think about the statistics first................. 1. THe course was extreamly short,,, i am talking about 25 feet... 2. The land was not a drag strip, it was uneven and had bumps in the middle and the begining...3. BLASTERS ARE built for LOW END POWER>>> I.E. they are built and geared for accelleration and sprint races. 4. Lt250r are built for TOP END POWER>>> I.E. Speed and endurance, NOT ACCELERATION.....5. i am not a dumba$$ and i am not going to abuse the $hit out of my quad by wrapping it up... my machine is close to 19 years old...

the next day my and my bro went back, and we raced a couple more times.. i won all 5 times, and there was 1 tie... i won all 5 by at least 2 1/2 car lenghts....
i read stuff on the forums all the time saying " i blew my motor" and crap like that, i do not wanna be that person posting i blew my motor so that i could rip a new hole in a blaster.... i raced and killed the blaster at only 3/4 throttle.... i am not going to be stupid and blow my motor from a dumb race.... not worth it...
and strange gtx.... and about the power valve issue... here is the link to proof...

Neither stang nor I have a clue what you were trying to say about the powervalve in your last post.

LT249r : the 86 didnt have a power valve, only the 86 and up did...

What does that mean?

87 and up had the pv, 85 and 86 were slower than the trx.

Well now I am a little confused... Are not both of these quads built around the idea of racing? If your LT is in working order you should not have to worry about a race messing it up. I have seen many a race and my quad has seen one mishap while racing that caused me to have to rebuild. (Not that going into the top end is that big a deal and it gave us a good reason to port it the rest of the way out) The problem I had was being lean on the top end. It popped after a few races and about 2 hours riding... This would not have happend had it been jetted properly. You said your LT was for top end speed? If you say this why are you worried about messing it up? It is a 2 stroke for quad's sake! Open her up and let her eat!!!

Well it sounds like both of these guys are a bit new to riding... Lesson number one... FIND A GOOD SPOT TO RACE!!! Lesson number two... FIND SOME PEOPLE WHO RACE & RIDE, GO MAKE FRIENDS!!! Lesson number three... FIND OUT WHERE YOUR NEW FRIENDS GO THAT FEW TIMES A YEAR FOR THEIR "AWSOME" ONCE OR TWICE YEARLY TRIP!!! You will be glad you did it... You have a good start in that you are brothers and both have a quad. Don't miss out on the fun of riding with a group of good people. I am sure there are groups in your little corner of the world...
