Hi, im an amatuer sponsored motocrosser from ohio. I recently bought my fiance a z250 as a first atv. well now she wants to race it and wants more hp. so heres my question,

1. what is the stock hp of a z250
2. what is the max you guys believe a z250 is capable of, head ported, full exhaust, jetted etc.
3. will it ever be capable of at least keeping up with a z400 or 400ex and not get totally annihalated.

selling this and getting a faster one is out of the question because i just bought it and with interest i owe more than its worth.

 

i work at a suzuki dealership..the title sayes it has 17.3 hp..and no it wont keep up with a z400..or a 400ex..sorry to say..the quad would need a big bore kit and a bunch of other expencive stuff to even keep up with a 400ex..so i think if you way out your options..i think you should sell the z250 and just buy her a z400..because it will cost alot more money than your going to lose to make it fast..look if her quad is very very nice still..its worth 2400-2600..it would have to be mint for the 2600..hopefuly this will help you with your questions..

 

id get her a pipe (DMC) and keep fixin it up i got mine beatin a 300ex so itll still be some competition

 

u could make it win.......but not against 400's
