Lt250 Quad racer falls on its face in 1st gear ??
#1
Hi. I just purchased an 87 lt250 Suzuki Quad Racer. Little background on it - new piston and rings(so I was told), I just installed new reeds (boyesen), and it has an FMF pipe. Other than that it runs great and is peppy as hell, except for getting out of the hole. Bogs way down in 1st gear. Any ideas? I don't know if it was re-jetted after the pipe was added.
Thanks for any help,
Scott

hmm. Mine does that when im in deep sand, but not on pavement. I took my plug out and it was black, a sighn of a really rich setting. See what color your plug is, you may need to drop a size down on the main jet. Also set the Piolit Jet and Throttle valve stop screew(idle)
Good luck

So it boog's out of the hole the take's off like a rapped ape and rip's like heck through all the gear's?low to mid setting on the carb is too lean, starving for gas,but take a plug reading. If the plug is a brownish tan on the plug's electrode the main jetting is ok,leave it and check the piolet jet's and air fuel mixture screw.
