#1
Allright , Now im a little nervous about getting a KQ... I have read through many forums and this is popping up everywhere about the reverse failing on the new KQ. Does anyone else on this forum have this problem besides nightw50? I sold my Vinny last week so i could get a KQ this week....now im not sure if i should wait.

I am in the same position you are.....ready to buy, but not feeling safe about it. I called my dealer today and asked him to check with his Suzuki rep to find out how large a problem this is, and what is causing the problem. I recommend that you do the same, and we can share the info we get on the board.

I understand your dilema. This reverse thing showed up the day after I got my bike and it realy p*ssed me off. I do love the bike however and think it's the best choice for my needs. I hope it is not a wide spread problem but time will tell. I suppose they can fix anything with enough time and money. I also hate the feeling that you think you are setting on a time bomb but it's too late to go back now. Ride on-

I have had no problems at all with my Kingquad. Reverse works just fine. Don't let this potential problem stop you from buying a new Kingquad. From my understanding it only happened in a very small amout of bikes and the problem was fixed.

I just came from my local Suzuki dealer...... They have 2 KQ's there that have this problem... A Suzuki rep is visiting them today to find out more about this issue. If i hear anything else, i will let you guys know the details.

It comes with a 6 month warranty. If reverse is going to go it will do it soon enough. I certainlty would not buy this quad becuase of something that may break that would be fixed for free. Not having reverse will not stop you from riding it back home. Don't sweat the small stuff.

I wouldnt exactly say a half of a dozen cases out of maybe 8,000-9,000 units sold already is a serious problem. That is less than one defect per thousand. But lets assume for a minute it is a design problem. Then it would show up early and be covered by warranty. No one motorized vehicle can ever be perfect. We also have the slight potential of operator error. If you don't wait for reverse to click in gear and hammer it hard you could easily damage it. But simply put, the quad is metal and plastic and it can be fixed. Life is to short to worry. I guess being older I have mellowed out and don't get upset as easily. I bought one and love it. If that is the only thing that goes wrong with my KQ over the course of a year I'll be tickled pink because it is sooooooo much fun and a great quad in so many different ways.
